Recreation Services Program Highlights
As a partner of Active Living Hennepin County, the City of Robbinsdale strives to provide physical activities which can improve health and quality of life and provide places designed to provide everyone with opportunities for safe, convenient and affordable physical activities.  We offer a wide range of activities for all ages along with providing facilities which include parks, trails and the Robbinsdale Community Gyms and Fitness Center located within the Robbinsdale Middle School Building. Warming House and Rinks open December 22 at Sanborn  Park-- Hours are:

REGULAR HOURS Jan. 7 -Feb. 12
Mon-Thurs 5:00-8:30 pm
Fridays-Saturdays 12:30-9:00 pm
Sundays 12:30-8:30 pm

Note: the Warming house and rinks will be closed due to weather and ice conditions Friday, January 6. We will try and open for some weekend hours, but it will depend on the weather. Please also note that the "funny smell" is related to the warmer weather causing the water to melt; releasing the odors caused by the vegetation under the ice decomposing.

Hours may be adjusted due to weather conditions and or usage patterns. Check the Program Information line for updates: 763-531-1276.

Please note: City Streets and sidewalks are plowed before rinks.

Walking Brochures-Walking routes have been mapped out using sidewalks and trails in Robbinsdale. Additional routes will be added. Click here for our current brochure.  To view a map of the Crystal Lake Route in Robbinsdale click here.

Dog Off Leash areas: City of Robbinsdale does not have any designated areas, however there are areas nearby. City ordinance require all dogs to be on leash and owners to pick up after their dogs. For off leash areas, please check neighboring cities or  Three Rivers Park District.

 

Looking for Gift Ideas?-Come check the display at City Hall for greeting cards, hats, bags, blankets, pillows, table doilies and other items handmade by Robbinsdale Senior Volunteer Crafters. Or give a gift certificate for the purchase of any Recreation Program or membership at the Robbinsdale Fitness Center.

Out & About/Art Sampler Trips-These trips are offered for Adults. All require pre-registration by deadlines listed on the flyers and since space is limited, may fill prior to that date. For Current flyers, click on the following: Out and About Trips or Twin Cities Art Sampler

Robbinsdale Community Center & Fitness Center-3730 Toledo Ave N.  Fall Hours are: Mondays thru Fridays: 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm, Saturdays: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and  closed on Sundays until October 3. Fees are based on residency and age. Memberships also available. Addtional hours are available during School Release days, please check current schedule.

Jazzercise -Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays-5:50 pm start time and Saturdays, 9:00 am-Ongoing. Unique combinations of effective exercise, jazz dance movements and popular music! Registration is taken at the class. Start anytime! There is a one time only Joining Fee of $25. Fees depend on several factors. Please check in at class for details. Classes listed above are held at the Robbinsdale Community Gym, 3730 Toledo Avenue North bring your water bottle, mat and enthusiasm! Starting September 14 there is "Body Sculpture Class that meets on Tuesdays 5:50-6:40 at the Community Room in the lower level of the Police & Fire Building.

ZUMBA -Thursdays, 8:15-9:15 pm and Saturdays, 8:30-9:30 am. Ongoing. Exciting exercise program that is suitable for men and women of all ages, shapes and fitness levels. Zumba can leave a person with a "feel good" sensation with its infectious music and easy to follow steps. Start anytime! Find out more at www.zumba.com or the instructor's facebook page Fees: $10 per time or $56 for 8 class punch pass if you are Robbinsdale resident $63 otherwise. Classes held at the Community Room located in the Robbinsdale Police & Fire Building, 41st & Hubbard bring your water bottle and get ready to party!

Yoga -Sundays Ongoing. Come join us for two different programs. One is for children, parents and gradnparents who wish to incorporate yoga into your family life. In this class you will learn yoga techiniques in a fun and playful way. Maintain flexibility and good posture. Family Friendly Yoga meets from 1 to 2 pm. The second option is Vinyasa Yoga which is gor adults who want to fell energized, refreshed and relaxed in a one hour class that helps you feel great for the rest of the day and to start your week. Get a good workout and imporve your streength, flexibility, balance, stamina while gaining therapuetic benefits as well. You are welcome to try one class free. Fees: $42 for 6 class punch pass if you are Robbinsdale resident $49 otherwise. Family yoga fees are same price but per pair. Classes held at the Community Room located in the Robbinsdale Police & Fire Building, 41st & Hubbard bring a mat or a large towel and dress in comfortable clothing.

Robbinsdale City Band-Do you enjoy playing a band instrument? Then come join thehorn.gif (2672 bytes) Robbinsdale Band!   Practices are held on Thursdays. The Band is open to all men and women with musical talent and interest.  For more information about the Band, please call the Robbinsdale Recreation Services at 763-531-1278.

Robbin Gallery & Historical Museum-Check out the art gallery's current show on displayed at the Historical Library Building, 4915 42nd Ave N. The Gallery features monthly shows featuring local artists and is open Tuesday thru Thursday from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm and Friday & Saturday from noon to 4 pm. Please check their website for more information: www.robbingallery.org

The Historical Museum is open to the public on Fridays, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and Saturdays, 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. features rotating displays. 

Whiz Bang Days-Hope you all had a great time at the 2010 Celebration! If interested in becoming involved in the event, please join us at the monthy meetings. The Whiz Bang Days Committee meets the third Monday evening of each month (except July).

MN Thunder West formerly known as Wings Soccer Club Offers traveling soccer programs for Robbinsdale residents. 

Golden Valley Phoenix Soccer Club offers a Competitive Traveling Program for youth Under 9 to Under 18.

Robbinsdale Little League Offers baseball programs for Robbinsdale youth between the ages of 7 and 12 years as of April 30, 2006.

Cooper Armstrong Girls Fastpitch Softball Offers fast pitch softball programs for girls 9-18 in the Robbinsdale Area School District.

Armstrong Cooper Youth Football: Raptors Offers football programs for Robbinsdale youth.

Armstrong Cooper Youth Baseball Association (ACYBA) formally known as RAYBA; Offers baseball programs for Robbinsdale youth between the ages of 13 and 21.
