REPEAT NUISANCE ORDINANCE
The Robbinsdale
Police actively utilize a Repeat Nuisance Ordinance (City Ordinance
927) which was enacted to prevent and abate repeat city response to
the same addresses for nuisance violations. Nuisance violations can
include, but are not limited to, loud parties, disturbances,
disorderly conduct and barking dogs.
After two recorded
violations the owner of a property and also the renter (if the
property is rental) are sent a warning letter detailing the
applicable violations. At this time, a third and/or subsequent
violation of the ordinance is subject to a $250.00 service fee to
the owner and/or renter of the property.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
The City of
Robbinsdale participates annually in National Night Out. This is a
coordinated national crime prevention effort which takes place the
first Tuesday of every August. National Night Out is designed to
heighten crime prevention awareness and Police-community
partnerships. It encourages residents across the country to get out
into their neighborhoods and meet their neighbors at block parties.
Officers from the Robbinsdale Police Department attend Robbinsdale
block parties and discuss any issues or concerns that are considered
important by the neighborhoods.
For holding a National Night Out party on
your block, contact Officer Ryan Seibert at (763) 531-1220 or via
email.

the Robbinsdale Block Party Application please click

PDF format and requires Adobe Reader which is available for download at www.adobe.com .
NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
Robbinsdale has
many active Neighborhood Watch groups composed of residents who are
dedicated to keeping their neighborhoods safe. They send a clear
message to potential criminals that crime is not welcomed in the
City by providing extra "eyes and ears" in their neighborhoods.
Watch groups schedule and facilitate their own meetings but
coordinate with the Robbinsdale Police Department's Crime Prevention
Officer to make occasional appearances to discuss a variety of
crime-related topics. Please contact the Robbinsdale Police
Department if you are interested in joining or starting a Watch
group in your neighborhood.
Residents
interested in Neighborhood Watch are encouraged to contact Officer
Ryan Seibert at (763) 531-1220 or by
email to inquire
if a group already exists in their neighborhood. If a group is not
established in that neighborhood, residents are encouraged to speak
with their neighbors and inquire about the interest in that
particular neighborhood for establishing a new Neighborhood Watch
group. A brochure explaining Neighborhood Watch in detail is
available for
download here.
PROPERTY IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM
The Robbinsdale
Police Department has a Property Identification Program which encourages residents to
record descriptive information on their personal items. The Police Department provides a
spreadsheet where information such as make/brand, serial number, model number, value, and
color of items can be recorded and then stored in a safe location. If a resident becomes
victim to a property crime, this recorded information will assist the police department in
investigating the incident and will increase the likelihood of recovering the stolen
property. See below for additional information on the program and for a copy of the
identification spreadsheet.

ROBBINSDALE CRIME PREVENTION
ASSOCIATION
The Robbinsdale Crime Prevention
Association became incorporated on January 13, 1987. The organization was formed to
provide crime prevention education, a reward fund, and "buy" money.
Members have been actively involved in
National Night Out, Block Watches, Public Safety open houses, as well as providing
programs and literature for elementary schools. Members played an important role in
the success of the referendums required to build the new Public Safety Building. The
statues in front of the Public Safety building are also a result of the RCPA's efforts.
